Male held with illegal ammunition

One man is currently in custody following the seizure of seven 12-gauge cartridges during a patrol along the Bull Point main road in Ocho Rios, St Ann, on Tuesday.

Reports from the Ocho Rios police are that about 2:45 p.m., lawmen were on patrol in the area when they observed the suspect acting in a manner that aroused their suspicion. He was accosted, searched and the ammunition found. He was subsequently arrested. His identity is being withheld pending further investigations.

Also on Tuesday, one shotgun and seven 12-gauge cartridges were seized at Park Lane, Constant Spring, St Andrew, on Tuesday. Reports from the Constant Spring police are that about 4:40 p.m., a team of officers conducted an operation in the area where a premises was searched and the firearm and ammunition found in a white knitted bag. No one was arrested in connection with the seizure.
